This Sterling Ranch homeowner loved their kitchen layout but wasn't a fan of the melamine, builder-grade cabinet doors. We replaced the doors and drawer fronts, professionally painted the perimeter cabinets, and transformed the entire kitchen in just 5 days.

The Vision

The homeowners liked their kitchen layout, but the existing flat-panel melamine doors, stark white finish, and brushed nickel hardware didn’t reflect the warmer, more elevated look they wanted for the space.

Rather than replacing the entire kitchen, they chose new raised-panel doors and drawer fronts to add architectural detail and give the cabinetry a more custom, furniture-quality appearance.

Color played an important role in the transformation. For the perimeter cabinets, they selected the lighter warm greige of Benjamin Moore Smoke Embers to soften the previous bright white while still keeping the kitchen light and inviting. The island received a much more dramatic update with Benjamin Moore Newburg Green, painted across the entire island to help it feel more like a substantial piece of furniture and create a beautiful focal point in the room.

To finish the cabinetry, the original brushed nickel hardware was replaced with a champagne gold combination of knobs and pulls, adding warmth and tying the new colors together. The homeowners also plan to update the light fixtures, which will complete the warmer, more intentional look of the kitchen.
